The following day the Wolves put it into a higher gear, easily defeating East Lake 60-45.

After a brief Christmas rest, Newsome returned fully recharged to win two games at the Ridgewood Rams Classic by a combined margin of 98 points. In the first matchup against Archbishop Carroll of Miami, the Wolves used their superior speed and quickness to run out to a quick 21-6 first quarter lead and never looked back. Coach Mackey substituted early, and the bench responded by extending the lead. The final score was Newsome 62, Archbishop Carroll 23. The Bulls were led in scoring by Dylan Fugate, along with an apparently healthy Jake Hodges with 15. Samal Shepherd added 9.

On Friday, the Wolves returned to Ridgewood to face Hernando. After the starting five jumped out to a 20 point first quarter lead, the next group extended the lead to 57-14. The second half featured a running clock, which barely slowed the Wolves down as they exploded to a 75-15 3rd quarter lead, holding Hernando to a single point in the period. As the third quarter waned, Freedom Patriots Senior Forward Rasha Evans, entering the gym for the next game was incredulous at the Wolves 62 point lead, repeatedly exclaiming "That's Not The Score!". There were a number of superlatives for the Wolves in this game, including largest lead (62), largest margin of victory (59), as well as an incredible 72% shooting percentage from the field. The Wolves were led in scoring by Junior Joe Raga with 20, Freshman Trent Mackey had a career-high 15 points. Seniors Dylan Fugate and Quincy Howell contributed 12 and 9 points respectively.
