There was alot of hype coming into Friday night's game against the Brandon Eagles. That morning the Wolves were written up as the Tampa Tribunes # 5 team in the county saying, "The Wolveshave flown under the radar all season, but will have a difficult challenge tonight at Brandon". They were right. The game started off in the Eagles favor they ran the floor to begin with and got themselves off to a quick lead. But the Wolves stormed back and capped off their comeback with and amazing shot by senior captain Jimmy Joyce (#3) to end the 1st quarter. After the 1st quarter the game was neck and neck for the rest of the game. The two teams battle back and forth the entire game share the lead multiple times. At times throughout the game it had looked like Brandon coach Mark Herrmann had bit off more than he could chew with this pesky Wolves team. Going into the 4th quarter it was tied 57-57 and it looked as if we had a prime shot at winning. That shot was ripped away by the refs questionable goaltending call on Joe Raga (#33). The wolves went on to lose the game 71-63. The wolves should not hang their heads thought, they played an amazing game and did everything right. They contained Brandon star Even Ravenel and did not let the Eagles settle into thier game plan. Id like to point out one amazing performance though. Joe Raga played his heart out friday night, he was all over the place and finished the game with a double-double (30 Points and 10 Rebounds) The wolves (7-2) are off for a little while, they'll have a couple games over xmas break but thats about it.
As for an injury update. Starter Jake Hodges (#20) was forced to sit out because of a high ankle sprain suffered against Tampa Bay Tech. When I saw him at school he was on crutches but Friday night it was good enough to leave the crutches at home so he should be ready to roll once the Wolves begin playing again.
