After coming off a spanking of their rival Bloomingdale Bulls the Wolves Boys Basketball coasts into another win Tuesday night over the Tampa Bay Tech Titans 76-66. The stingy Titans gave the Wolves a run for their money at first but everytime you thought it would be close the boys would pull away. The home team set the pace from the begining of the game till the end of the game and didn't trail once throughout the whole game. The Wolves were led by electrifying sophomore Samal Shepherd (#21) who finished the game with 20, Joe Raga (#33) came off the bench to add another 20 and captain Dylan Fugate(#23) also contributed 13. Starter Andy Suslavich (#5) also scored in double figures with 10 as the team improves to 9-1 including the preseason. The Wolves next game is Friday @ Brandon. This will be an intense battle of District 5A-8 heavyweights and if we want any shot at winning the crowd needs to show up as it did for the Bloomingdale game. If we can pull out a victory friday night the Wolves will stand alone atop the District 5A-8 standings.
As for an injury report, starter Jake Hodges (#20) left the game in the mid 2nd Quarter with a high ankle sprain and did not return he sat on the end of the bench with the ankle elevated and ice on it. After the game it was well enough to where he could get up and walk on so the team is optimistic about his return, because he is a key player in this Newsome offense and there is no doubt that the team will need him if they plan on winning Friday night @ Brandon.Last changed: Mar 02 2008 at 7:35 PM
