The tentative new districts for basketball have been released by the fhsaa. The district as we have known it is being changed dramatically, as Brandon, Bloomingdale, and Wharton move up to 6A and King makes a lateral move. Newsome also picks up some nearby opponents including Durant, Plant City, and East Bay. Schools have until February 20 to appeal. While the FHSAA made separate announcements for girls volleyball, boys basketball, and boys soccer, district 5A-9 is the same in all three sports.
