Brandon, FL  Wharton and Newsome Blue squared off in Brandon on Tuesday, Jan 26th and the game between two of the league's top pure teams did not disappoint.  Wharton won the first meeting 3 - 2 early in the season and it took a shootout for Newsome Blue to gain the second point this time around.

Manatee continues to dominate, outscoring their opponents 31 to 2 in their two games this week.  Freedom defeated Jesuit and Bloomingdale snuck by Newsome Blue in games over the weekend, so the top 3 pure teams are only separated by 3 points with three or four games remaining.  The top two pure teams advance to the Pure State tournament in South Florida in March, with a chance to advance to the National high school tournament in Chicago in April.  Manatee and Bloomingdale are currently the top two combined teams, comprised of students from more than one high school in the area.  There will also be a State Championship for the combined teams in March.

Manatee and Newsome Blue will face off on Friday, Feb. 5th in Ellenton.  Jesuit and Wharton will play on Feb 20th.  The report below identifies the players with the most points in each game and recognizes any goalies with a shutout.
