Newsome Athletes Honored for Academic Achievement

Four Newsome athletes achieved all-county academic success for the 2010 school year, led by first team selection Patrick Hacker. In addition to being named to the state all-star soccer team, Hacker found the time to achieve a 6.06 GPA and coach the Randall Middle School soccer team. Hacker's next stop will be the University of Florida, where he plans to major in engineering.

Also making the honor roll were basketball center Cody Dowd, who plans to attend Virginia Tech to study engineering, basketball's Sarah Burgan and Cross-Country and track standout Sydney Coates.
