Fugate Becomes Wolves all-time Leading Scorer as Newsome Wraps Up District Play

This week, Dylan Fugate became the second Newsome Player to Reach 1000 points, surpassing Todd Dinneny as the school's all-time leading scorer. You can read about this and about Hillsborough County's outstanding crop of Junior ballers in the Tampa Tribune.

Tonight marks the end of league play as Newsome hosts the surging Wharton Wildcats. Wharton, which started the season with a dismal 3-11 start before the new year, has rebounded to post 8 district wins in a row, assuring them of the second seed in the district tournament. It has won those games in a dramatic fashion with a winning margin over over 15 points per game. Wharton is led by a talented group of seniors, including Manuel Anthony, Derek Holmes, Chris Jean-Louis and Andreas Shields.
