It's only 4 games into the season, but already all 8 teams in district 5A-8 have at least one loss. Last year's winner, the Wharton Wildcats, are in last place, having just lost to last year's last place team, Freedom, which has shown amazing improvement over last year. The Brandon Eagles and the Newsome Wolves sit atop the district along with the Armwood Hawks, each with one loss.

There have been some amazing individual performances along the way. Just last night, Adam Sollazzo scored 34 points to lead his Armwood Hawks to a 4 point victory over Tampa Bay Tech while King's Toarlyn Fitzpatrick shot four treys on his way to a 25 point performance and a huge victory for his team over Brandon. Bloomingdale's Callum Townsend has been scoring at an astounding 28 points-per-game clip. Tampa Bay Tech has a pair of high scorers, Dezmond Walker and Fredrick Drayton. Brandon and Newsome feature more balanced attacks, spreading the scoring out over a larger number of players.

It will be exciting to watch how this plays out next week as the Wolves play two crucial matchups. First, TBT invades the Wolves den Tuesday at 7:45 and then on Friday they take the short road trip to scenic downtown Brandon in two matchups that may re-shape the district standings.
